WELCOME

Hi. I'm Sarah.
I was born and raised a Kansas girl and moved to San Diego in 2003. There were many and cities in between but Carlsbad, California, is where I now call home.
And I absolutely love it here.

I met my husband (lovingly referred to as "Homie" in blogland) in 2004 and we married in 2010. We brought home the greatest honeymoon souvenir of all time, our daughter "Sweet Pea/Squishy/Queen Squishy", who arrived in 2011. September of 2012, "Peanut/King Squishy" joined us to create what we like to refer to as our Family Four-Pack. My husband and babies are the most amazing gifts of my life.

I like to write, take pictures, make people laugh, explore our city and try to soak in each day I am able to spend with my family. My husband is a fireman, which brings its own perks and challenges, but one of the greatest joys is having a non-traditional schedule that allows us a lot of time together.

I hope that what I share here will be helpful, fun, creative, inspiring, realistic and bring a smile to your face.

I see you.

Keeping with our annual tradition, Homie and I are trying to see all the "Best Picture" nominations before our Oscar party March 7th.

Tonight, it was finally time for Avatar. I admit, it was as beautiful as everyone claimed, and although it included a few cheesy lines here and there, I was entertained and would probably see it again. There are a few warnings I believe should be noted on the ticket when seeing the movie in IMAX 3D:

1) May have aching tailbone for up to 45 minutes after movie ends
2) May experience motion sickness during the last hour of the movie
3) May have loud neighbors that make you wish a movie muzzle was available at the popcorn stand.

Even with the above ailments, I would still recommend it.

Now, for the movie we watched on DVD last night. A Serious Man.

I think if I would have had earplugs and a blindfold I may have enjoyed that movie more. Absolutely awful. Made no sense, acting was ridiculous, and was just every level of awful I can even imagine. I can count on one hand the movies I have either left or turned off the TV. This stinker is officially on the list.

After 3 hours with my hienie in a movie seat, it's time for bed. Off to dream about what I'm sure will be Pandora.
